Happy Anniversary in Savannah!

July 7th is a day I will never forget. (But make sure to remind me in 50 + years). Two years ago I married the man I had hoped and prayed for my whole life. We were reminded again, 2 years later, in our good friends' Tyler and Aubrey's wedding to ALWAYS celebrate that day.
So we did just that on July 7th. We had just gotten back from Milwaukee the day before so we decided to stay in on the actual day and I made some of our favorite food and "fancied up" the usual Monday night.

The first anniversary, we decided that we would alternate each anniversary for who plans it. This year it was ME.
So naturally, I chose Savannah, GA. Something about those old southern towns (Charleston, Savannah...) keep bringing me back!

It can't be those dreamy row houses can it?
Or how perfect this model up above is I married?

But the FOOD. Oh my. Candied pralines from River Street Sweets will forever have a place in my heart. And I'll think of you, Leah, every time!
Our anniversary dinner was spent at The Olde Pink House.
If you've never been...go... NOW.
It was once the Governor's mansion in Georgia. We ate in the master bedroom and had the best meal I can imagine. They encourage you to tour the house while you wait for food. Its so fun to see all three stories and how they've kept the rooms and furnishings pretty much the same.
We ended the trip with Leopold's Ice Cream...and I am paying for it all in the gym this week!

I can't imagine anyone more perfect for me to do life with. Happy 2 years Ty!

My summer life

When Tyler asked me to go with him on a quick business trip to South Carolina, I relished at the chance. Was it a great location? Absolutely not. Would I have anything to do here while he worked? Absolutely not. That is why I had to come! Two days with absolutely nothing to do in a hotel room?! I haven't had two days in two months to myself! That's why I finally got a chance to crank out some blogging.

When in actuality I should be setting up utilities, cable, water, and address changes for Portland.

So as my mom likes to explain it, we never sit still. This seems to be more and more true this summer.

The past six weeks I've gotten the chance to go to.........

Savannah for Log, Nikki, and Jessica's bachelorette party,
Knoxville for 2 weddings.
Hilton Head with my family,
Nashville for some honky tonkin' and a wedding,
Portland for house hunting,
Milwaukee for the fourth of July.

Why yes, I am trying to hit all quadrants in the USA. Here's some pics to remember...

Savannah slow ride...SO FUN.

Our one and only weekend we were in Asheville, sweet Hannah and Daniel came to see us! We went white water rafting to check off our bucket list. And a month later....THEYRE ENGAGED!

Ahhh Hilton Head

Loved spending time with my cute little cousin, Bailey

Family time at Harbour town

July 4th weekend in Milwaukee...and it was lovely.

Boating on Lake Michigan...windy but beautiful

Tyler got to fly over Lake Michigan with MaryNell...and boy was he excited.

There's my husband! One of the most amazing views I've seen. You seriously cannot beat Milwaukee summers.

Which is all fun and exciting and exhausting. Poor Tyler he is probably pooped because he works all week while I stay a busy body all over the place. But I miss Asheville! We've got to enjoy it while we can cause the days are numbered! We got to enjoy a concert with some of our very favorites in Asheville.

Florida Georgia Line and Nelly. Yes, that's correct. Couldn't think of a more perfect mismatch.

Now we are on the road again tomorrow heading to Savannah, GA for our 2 year anniversary trip!!!!! Cheers :)

27 Dresses (Or 3)

You know the movie 27 Dresses, right? She's been a bridesmaid that many times. This summer I am beginning to think I could have at least been an extra in the movie as an honorary mention or something. ALL OF MY BESTFRIENDS ARE GETTING MARRIED THIS SUMMER. But seriously. I'm serious. 3 down in June, 1 to go.
I love weddings. I tear up every time. Every, single time.
Jessica and Brad's on June 7th. Beautiful day and beautiful bride! It was so good to spend the day with these people.

Logan and Brax, June 21st. Talk about tears flowing down! It was goooorgeous. We danced the night away. So so happy for her...since 2nd grade!

Tyler and Aubrey...June 29th in Nashville. STUNNING church and STUNNING bride. Ty and I were so fortunate to be able to be in the wedding together. We are unbelievable happy our couple-besties are finally hitched!

And who doesn't love all the festivities that come with weddings.
Friends, family, Knoxville, Nashville.
We ate, drank, and got merry.

Big Move

Do you ever feel like you can't quite catch up? That's how I've felt....for the past month. But I've also learned this - I cannot change that! I, Kacey Kiste, will never catch up. So I'm going to enjoy this nonstop roller coaster.

With that being said, are we moving to the other side of the country in less than 3 weeks? Yup!

Portland, Oregon - we are coming for ya.

We found out about our move early June. We made a quick four day trip out there to find a place to live and thankfully, we found it!

Not bad views in the Pacific Northwest.

Fun fact: Food trucks started in Portland. There's miles and miles of them.

When in PDX....visit the place where maple bacon doughnuts are made.

We found a place to live! Its about half the size of every place we have ever lived in, but we will make do somehow. No washer/! (Insert: encouragement)

I think we will have a whole heck of a lot of new adjustments to get used to living in a big city. I have days when I am so dang excited I can't wait to get out there. Then I have days where I dread the change and miss my family already. Thankful to the Lord for always seeming to find exactly the place to put us for awhile...

So we indulged a little bit.

Just when I thought I have seen Tyler at his happiness peak (obviously OUR wedding day ;-) )...this happened.

Since Ty was little he has been a huge Detroit Lions fan. (Yes, one of the only) His family is from Michigan so I guess it came with the territory. He spotted one of their top players, Ndamukong Suh, at Portland airport. He then continued to run to him, introduce himself as if he is a child waiting on Santa, and snap a picture with him. To Tyler's defense...Suh was extremely nice to him. It paid off. Congrats, Ty. If only I could see BeyoncĂ© at the next airport....
